Crescent-faced Cruiser

Type locality: Kaballa, Sierra Leone

Diagnosis

Male is similar to darker members of paula-group by (a) thorax with 3 pale stripes on each side; (b) dorsum of S10 with peak bearing 2 cones clearly separated at their base (best seen in caudal view). However, differs by (1) frons pale rather than broadly dark, marked with isolated dark crescent; (2) hamule elongate rather than stout; (3) cerci and genital lobe pale rather than black. Habitat description

Not known well, but possibly rivers or flowing channels in marshes shaded by gallery forest. Often with a gravelly and/or sandy bottom and probably coarse detritus. From 0 to 1500 m above sea level.

confirmed: Botswana; Central African Republic; Kenya; Sierra Leone; Uganda; Zambia; NOT confirmed: Tanzania
