Notogomphus lecythus Campion, 1923
- scientific: N. immisericors Campion, 1923; N. cataractae Consiglio, 1978
Type locality: Kaffa Province, Ethiopia
Male is similar to N. kilimandjaricus by (a) face all pale, at most with thin dark line on frons or at base postclypeus; (b) antehumeral stripe narrow, indistinct or absent; interpleural suture unmarked; (c) postdorsal stripes merged with pale area of middorsal carina, at most thinly separated; (d) costa pale; (e) ventral teeth of cerci directed outwards, visible in dorsal view. However, differs by (1) ranging from W Kenya to Ethiopia; (2) postdorsal stripes completely merged with pale area of middorsal carina; (3) middorsal carina only with black spot on its tooth, rather than being largely lined with black; (4) S9-10 black with contrasting yellow dorsal and lateral markings, rather than being uniformly orange-brown; (5) cerci twisted rather than straight, like feet with prominent heel and toe; (6) branches of epiproct short.
