Male differs from other Libyogomphus species by combination of (1) great size, Hw 33-35 mm; (2) thorax with 4 rather than 3 green stripes on each side, only antehumeral stripes reduced, postdorsal stripes (almost) separate from (rather than fused to) collar; (3) dorsum of S10 humped rather than flat. Habitat description

Mostly streams, but also headwaters, shaded by forest. Often with coarse detritus and a gravelly and/or sandy bottom. From 0 to 1200 m above sea level.
