Type locality: Kibale Forest, Toro District, Uganda

Diagnosis

Male is similar to A. wittei by (a) head and thorax marked blue; (b) labrum black, but sometimes blue in centre; (c) S9-10 marked with orange; (d) cerci shorter than paraprocts; (e) paraprocts black, although possibly pale when teneral. However, differs by (1) ranging from W Kenya to Gabon; (2) anterior side of mid and hind tibiae blue, rather than being all black; (3) dorsum of S3-4 entirely black, rather than blue at base; (4) dorsum of S9 and cerci all orange, rather than black. Habitat description

Headwater streams, seeps and springs shaded by forest. Usually with coarse detritus and often a gravelly, sandy and/or soft (like muddy) bottom. From 400 to 1700 m above sea level.
